Base EV rates are shown for comparison. Duty, surcharges, time-of-day adjustments and actual billed consumption can affect the final margin. The kVAh-based comparison assumes near-unity power factor. Rajasthan uses the inspected Ajmer schedule; confirm the local provider. UP references the five state DISCOMs. Delhi uses the 2021 DERC base schedule still linked on TPDDL’s current tariff page; provider-specific bill adjustments are extra.

Chandigarh also has ₹30/kVA/month demand charges. State-specific fixed/demand charges and bill adjustments belong in the expense view below. Earnings do not double merely by selecting a larger charger at the same daily units sold.

Comparing this with our earlier planning examples

The earlier example used ₹10.50/unit after its stated costs, then deducted ₹5,000/month. At 220 units/day for 30 days, that gives ₹64,300/month; at 350 units/day, ₹1,05,250/month.

This tool starts with your state’s base margin before rent and other expenses, so the headline can differ. Use the optional expense view to compare the same assumptions. The previous ₹10.80 lakh investment was a 60 kW illustration, not a fixed price for every site.

Optional. Enter your own costs; use 0 where there is no expense. No rent or contingency is assumed.

WHY TATA POWER EZ CHARGE

A charger drivers can find, use and trust.

A commercially useful charger must be discoverable, connected, payable and supported. These are Tata Power platform capabilities; availability for a customer-owned site depends on onboarding and the contracted scope.

Drivers can find you

App and map discovery, route planning and live availability help drivers choose a suitable charging stop.

Start and pay easily

App access, digital payments and RFID support compatible charging sessions at onboarded sites.

See site performance

Charging-management connectivity, analytics and dashboards help owners understand usage and equipment performance.

Support beyond hardware

Round-the-clock network monitoring, diagnostics, support and field-service coordination help keep sites operating.

Connected to Tata’s “Green Allies” ecosystem

Tata Power lists relationships with vehicle manufacturers, hotels, residential communities and institutions. Its Green Allies include Tata Motors, MG, Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover. These connections support a wider charging ecosystem and brand visibility.

For your site, agree app listing, payment collection and service support during onboarding. Any corporate or fleet arrangement is site-specific.

Why consider EV charging now?

More EVs create more charging opportunities.

16.81 lakhEV registrations · FY 2023–24
19.68 lakhEV registrations · FY 2024–25

Official VAHAN figures show around 17% annual growth across all EV categories. For a commercial DC site, local electric-car traffic, convenient access and useful stopping time matter most.

Hotels, highways, retail destinations and fleets offer different opportunities. Match the charger and investment to the vehicles and demand at your location.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

The questions customers ask first.

Get the essentials here, then bring us the questions specific to your site.

Is the displayed price my complete project cost?

No. Standard DC packages cover charger supply plus the stated standard installation and commissioning. The upgradeable cabinet is supply-only. Cable, panels, earthing, civil works, freight and connection work depend on your site. Your cost breakdown adds the standard site-work allowance and applicable connection estimate, with outstanding items shown separately.

Should I choose 60 kW, 120 kW or a larger DC charger?

Compare vehicle DC intake, expected sessions, parking duration and available power. Higher cabinet power does not make every vehicle charge faster. Two connected vehicles may share power. Start with the charging-time tool and discuss expansion space before buying.

Can I explore before I have a site or a confirmed electricity load?

Yes. Choose “Still finding a site” or “I don’t know yet”. Ekam can help identify the information needed for a survey. A final feasibility or project price needs site control, parking layout and utility confirmation.

How much space do I need? Can I get an LT connection?

Space depends on vehicle movement, number of bays, charger clearances, panel/transformer location and cable route. A 60 kW training example allows roughly two 5 m × 2.5 m bays plus charger space, but this is not an approved layout. The state utility must confirm your connection category, load and fees. Check the state guidance.

How does my charger become visible in the Tata app?

Equipment supply and platform onboarding are separate parts of the project scope. Agree listing, connectivity, payments, platform fees and settlement terms before commissioning. Confirm discoverability and a successful trial session at handover. App visibility can help drivers find a site; it does not guarantee customer traffic.

Do Tata’s corporate and fleet relationships guarantee customers?

No guaranteed utilisation is included. Tata’s published collaborations show ecosystem reach across vehicle makers, fleets, hotels and other destinations. Any fleet arrangement, roaming access or Green Allies participation for your site needs a specific agreement.

Can my contractor do the electrical and civil work?

Yes, using a qualified contractor who follows the issued drawings, measured BOQ, safety requirements and installation dos and don’ts. Site deviations must be corrected before acceptance. You can also choose the experienced installation team offered with the project. Ekam coordinates the DC journey through working handover within the agreed scope.

What about warranty, breakdowns and ongoing service?

The chargers carry a 5-year warranty against manufacturing and functional defects, as stated in the supplied Tata proposals and confirmed by Ekam. Installation and BOQ materials must comply with Tata’s requirements. The supplied warranty terms define coverage and exclusions; maintenance and response commitments follow the agreed service scope. Tata’s network support capabilities do not by themselves define a response-time promise for every site.

Can a bank finance the complete installation?

Dedicated lending routes include SBI EV Mitra and Central Bank’s Cent EV Connect. Approval depends on the borrower and project. Ask which charger, electrical, civil, deposit and working-capital costs qualify, and compare your own contribution, security, rate and tenure. Compare financing routes.

When can the site be operational?

The schedule depends on equipment availability, site works, utility approvals, inspections and platform onboarding. Request a project-specific schedule and responsibility list after survey. Paying for equipment alone does not establish a go-live date.

Can I buy just an AC charger?

Yes. AC can be supply-only, or standard installation and commissioning can be added for ₹3,000 plus applicable tax. Site wiring, protection, earthing and other civil/electrical work remain separate. Your vehicle’s AC intake and connector compatibility must be checked.

How much can I earn?

Choose your state and compare 220, 350, 500 or 1,000 units/day in the earnings scenario. It deducts the state’s base electricity reference and ₹3/unit Tata fee. Rentals and other applicable expenses are extra; add your own costs for an investment-recovery illustration. The starting charging tariff is ₹21/kWh + 18% GST (₹24.78/kWh paid by the driver). GST collected is separate from charging revenue; operating contribution is not net profit.
